My husband (John) and I became avid amateur astronomers and lovers of the night skies a few years back…and of course, watchers of the daytime sky. We travel here and there to “Star Parties”…dragging our 12” Meade telescope (it takes two people to set it up...it weighs 75 pounds) wherever we go…staying up until the wee hours of the morning…just to view the night skies.
While watching the daytime skies…whenever both sun and clouds are in the sky, be sure to look up…you may see something absolutely amazing! Ice Rings or Halos…whatever you want to call them…technical name: Parhelic Circles…way to technical for me!
These photos were taken a couple of years ago at the Shingletown Star Party in Northern California. (WARNING…your camera MUST have the proper filter on to take pictures of the sun!)
