Our Return to Pinecrest

Our Return to the Pinecrest area in Memory of Amy.

Pinecrest Lake is such a peaceful part of California…located by Dodge Ridge Ski Resort.

The weather was much the same as it was a year ago when Amy left us.

It snowed…
and snowed...
My poor little V-Dub was so cold!
It's the first time I've had it in the snow!...poor baby!

Then down to Sonora to watch John's granddaughter's play soccer. It was much warmer in Sonora!

GOOOOOO! Victoria!GOOOOOO! McKenzie! It was beautiful up there...Fall is in the air!

On the Grounds of the Gibson Mansion in Woodland, California

On Saturday, 7.7.07…my niece Kacee was married…in a beautiful Victorian setting on the park-like grounds of the historic Gibson Mansion.

What a beautiful bride!

My husband, John, was more interested in taking pictures of the grounds…so here they are! I call it “guy stuff”…but I like it to!

How would you like to do your laundry like this?

"Ice Rings" Around the Sun...

My husband (John) and I became avid amateur astronomers and lovers of the night skies a few years back…and of course, watchers of the daytime sky. We travel here and there to “Star Parties”…dragging our 12” Meade telescope (it takes two people to set it up...it weighs 75 pounds) wherever we go…staying up until the wee hours of the morning…just to view the night skies.

While watching the daytime skies…whenever both sun and clouds are in the sky, be sure to look up…you may see something absolutely amazing! Ice Rings or Halos…whatever you want to call them…technical name: Parhelic Circles…way to technical for me!

These photos were taken a couple of years ago at the Shingletown Star Party in Northern California. (WARNING…your camera MUST have the proper filter on to take pictures of the sun!)

My Fair Weather Car :-)

I just love "my fun car"...I bought it a few years back...fully restored...it's a 1973 VW. I usually call it my V-dub or my Sweeeeeeeet little Vert. For some reason it makes me smile when I drive it...and I love it when kids smile and wave as I drive by.

We also tow it behind our motorhome when we travel.
